Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-28

hado99 is a network filtering app for Android. This policy describes exactly what the app does with data. It is written to be verifiable against how the app actually works.

What we do not collect

What stays on your device

The blocklist of roughly 93,000 domains ships with the app and is evaluated locally. The decision to block or allow a domain is made on your phone. A short list of recent queries is kept in memory so the app can show you recent activity; it is discarded when the app stops and is never written to disk.

DNS encryption

Queries that are not blocked are resolved using DNS-over-HTTPS through Cloudflare (cloudflare-dns.com). This encrypts your queries in transit so your network provider cannot read them. Cloudflare does receive those queries and the public IP they come from, under their own privacy policy. We state this plainly rather than imply the app makes you invisible.

Explanations, and the only data that leaves your phone

When you tap a blocked domain to ask why it was blocked, the app sends only that domain name to our service at brain.hado99.com. No device identifier, no cookie, no history and no other field is attached. This request happens only when you tap — never in the background, never in batches.

Our server may forward that domain name to a language model to write the explanation. Explanations are cached by domain and shared by everyone, so a popular domain is usually answered from cache without any external call.

Our server sees the IP address of the request, as any web server does. It is kept in memory only for rate limiting and is never written to disk, never logged and never sent to the language model.
